- Die Deutsche
Hydrographische Gesellschaft e.V. (DHyG)
- The DHyG, set
up in 1984, works for the common good, operates independently,
and is non-profit-oriented. All offices of the Society are held
in an honorary capacity.
- The German Hydrographic Society (DHyG e.V.)
,
- as a professional
association working for the common good, promotes practical and
scientific hydrography as well as national and international
cooperation in this field. It provides specialist support for
persons employed in hydrography and for beginners in this professional
field. To achieve these objectives, the DHyG
- publishes information
in its periodical "Hydrographische Nachrichten"
("Hydrographic News"),
- maintains its
Internet presentation, actually with more than 1500 pages (bibliography
included)
- publicises specialist
papers and seminar lectures,
- holds conferences,
seminars and other events,
- cultivates contacts
with related disciplines,
- offers members
a forum for international contacts, and
- provides advice by its
members for the planning, operation and completion of hydrography
projects - worldwide.
